The performance showcases three distinct styles of Chinese fiddles: the erhu, gaohu, and yehu, each performing their respective traditional masterpieces such as 'Han Tian Lei', a famous Guangdong musical piece for the gaohu, and 'A Traveler's Sentiments in Autumn', a Nanyin melody for the yehu. While introducing the audience to different types of Chinese fiddles, the performance also blends in jazz arrangements. It then transitions from traditional to modern pop and jazz standards, demonstrating how Chinese instruments can transcend boundaries and fuse with Western music, beyond the confines of Chinese musical genres.
There is also an interactive segment where the audience is invited to join in a jazz improvisation. Following the lead of the musicians, the audience will add their voices to the music, experiencing the essence of jazz improvisation.
